It was built in 1794 and later occupied by Representative George Peter, the Georgetown Female Seminary, Secretary Newton D. Baker, the British military attaché, Ambassador Alan Goodrich Kirk, Ambassador Stanley Woodward, First Lady Jackie Kennedy, author Michael Straight and his wife Nina Auchincloss Straight, and Miss America Yolande Fox.
